A journey to the Hawaiian Islands.
Aloha from Hawaii! A journey to the Hawaiian Islands. When hearing the word “Hawaii” everyone draws a breath and says: "Oh, that Hawaii." I traveled there with a certain idea of a celestial paradise, full of expectations and curiosity. The flight alone, with transfers, lasted 24 hours. If you intend to travel there, get ready for a long trip. However, you can take it. It was 5 years ago when I made the trip to the Hawaiian archipelago. I was 3 months pregnant and suffered from morning sickness. It may have been a pity, because due to this discomfort I could hardly enjoy all the beauties of Maui. The only things I was thinking of were food and lazing about. And believe me, it’s a piece of a beautiful world. I hope to be lucky enough to visit this place again and to be able to notice all the beauties of the island. But this would probably be too much to ask for. Today, leafing back through my album, I remember the time spent traveling across the island. I was fascinated by the unbelievably deep green color of the trees and palms in contrast to the heavenly blue sky. Then the marvelous tropical climate and the sun; all that leaves nothing more to be desired. The term ”Hawaii” may cause people to imagine a tropical paradise of wealthy tourists, islands with beaches, palms, a wonderful sea, being lazy on the beach with a cocktail in hand. Yes, in fact, Hawaii is like that, but it still has much more to offer - the wonderful beauty of nature, from tropical jungles, to savannahs, up to the snow. Not to mention the bays with coral reefs. One thing, however, perhaps the most interesting, was meeting active volcanoes. Actually I saw an active volcano spouting lava for the first time. Hawaiian Islands - an ideal place for escaping during the winter. If you aren’t looking for a place of peace and loneliness, Hawaii is ideal. A maximally civilized country, with a lot of fun, good equipment, and many water sports opportunities, in particular surfing. This, however, is rather for the more advanced. If you would like to start learning, you should probably travel elsewhere. Otherwise, however, it’s a wonderful spectacle to view the guys in waves 6 meters high and more. You sit at the beach for hours and watch the surfers perform, just like seeing a movie. You can view this spectacle at Hookipa beach. The world’s best-known surfing and windsurfing location is to be found in a small area of Paia. What certainly belongs to Hawaii are HOT MAUI LUALUS - Hawaiian dances! I believe especially the men will get their money’s worth : -) Graceful girls in grass skirts with coconuts as the upper part of their bathing suits are simply charming! The music starts playing on the podium, the fire is the main backdrop, beefy guys run everywhere and ”Hawaiian women“ twirl to the rhythm. During this spectacle you’ll become familiar with local dances, learn the most important greetings and the whole evening goes in Hawaiian style. I enjoyed the evening very much! You should spare some more time for Hawaii; it’s a place where you can’t get bored. And if you’re bored by one island, you leave for another one. The archipelago consists of 18 islands, but the most interesting are the largest - Hawaii, Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Molokai and Niihau. The Hawaiian Islands developed and are still developing, since the process is unending, from volcanic activity. This beautiful piece of world was discovered by Captain James Cook in 1778. It’s almost unbelievable how many faces Maui can offer. It’s a relatively small island with hardly any public traffic. It’s ideal to rent a car and simply drive across the island, make a stop here and there and enjoy the view of a bay, a green valley or just look at a brown strip of earth and run over hardened lava. We made a stop at each rest area. And if the rest area also had food to offer, my eyes must have lit up with joy and my hungry belly easy welcomed even the classical American hot dog. I admit that driving along the serpentine roads of the Hana valley was somewhat too much for my stomach. Alex showed his displeasure properly Aloha from Hawaii!
